Indeed, research carried out by mortgage broker Private Finance revealed in February that Liverpool now stands in joint-first place – alongside Nottingham – as offering the strongest returns for its buy-to-let sector (6.2 per cent) out of all major conurbations in the UK.

Meanwhile, demand for housing continues to push up values for residential property across the city, with figures published by JLL last year predicting a more than 20 per cent upturn in housing values between 2017 and 2021.

This would represent a significant boon for investors who act soon to enter the market, with house price growth across the whole of the north-west set to be among the strongest of any region in the whole of the UK over the coming years, JLL believes.
