It’s time to sell! You’ve finally gotten to the point where getting rid of your home is your chosen option. Now, you’ve got to go through the whole process of selling it. If you thought you’d be getting some cash in your hand in the next week, think again! Selling your home can take years in some cases, and there’s a lot you need to think about it. To give yourself the best possible chance of selling it quickly, it needs to stand out and look attractive. Not sure how to do this? Read on.
Clean It
It stands to reason that you need to clean your home if you’re going to sell it. I don’t just mean a small clean, though. You need to take as much time as possible to go through every single corner and do a vast clean. Get professionals like a carpet cleaner to help you with this. First impressions are everything, and if you fail in this area, you aren’t going to make the sale. Period.
Redecorate
This is an area that you should only tackle if you feel it’s necessary. Some people like to redecorate certain parts of their home before they sell it. This isn’t a common occurrence, though, so don’t feel like you have to do it. Sometimes, decorating that has been neglected is finally carried out before the house goes on sale. This might be that little extra touch you need to make your home more attractive to potential buyers.
Fix Small Issues
It’s difficult to know which issues you should fix around the home. On the one hand, you don’t want people to have to see fixes that need doing. That just means they’ll need to spend more money, and they don’t want that. Still, you don’t want to spend over the odds on something when you’re leaving it anyway! Think about what can be done on a small scale for relatively small amounts of money.
Find The Right Estate Agent
This is so important. Finding the right estate agent is crucial if you want to make a quick sale. They are the ones who will be creatively taking pictures of your home to get the best shots. They are the ones that will be listing it for sale and working their marketing techniques to try and find a buyer. They are also the ones that will be showing people around the property! It’s safe to say that if you choose the wrong estate agent, you could be waiting a long time.
Be Honest About Any Faults
If there are any faults in your home such as broken tiles or mould growth, be upfront about it. I know you want to make your home look as good as possible, but hiding it doesn’t do that. If anyone comes across it when walking around, they’ll become suspicious about the entire home. If you’re going to hide something like that, what else are you hiding? Instead, be upfront and honest. They’ll appreciate the honesty and take things at face value.
