Owning land has a variety of benefits. Not only do you have the space to live the life you want (whether that is with beautiful gardens, lots of room for your family or perhaps a few animals), you also have something that other people wish they had. Space.

Another great thing about owning land is the fact that it can also be a moneymaker. It just depends on how you use it and what you do with it. So, to help to inspire you to make some money. We have put together our guide to the best ways to make money from the land you own that don’t involve real estate development:

1. Turn your land into a car park

Do you live somewhere near a part of the UK that people visit regularly? Know that it can be hard to find a car parking space in this area? Why not turn your land into a car park and make some money that way?

This is much easier to do than you realise. There are websites out there designed to help you advertise your land to those who want to park their car. Not only this, but to physically turn your land into a car park, all you would need are wall-mounted barriers to mark off the space.

2. Rent out plots as gardens

Allotments and community gardens are becoming more and more popular as people have had to cope with living in smaller properties that lack outdoor space. This means that one great way to make money is to rent out your land as garden plots.

You get the benefit of charging for something that you already own, and the other people can enjoy their own space to go gardening. Not just this, but the more plants that get planted, the better your outdoor space will look too.

3. Use social media

If you don’t want to give up any of your land but still want to make money, why not try a different approach? Social media is a lucrative way to make money, and all you need to do is share parts of your life with other people. Let them know what you are up to and what is happening in your outdoor space.

You could use several platforms to do this. Instagram, YouTube and creating your own blog are probably amongst the best ones.

4. Sell your produce

If you are good at growing or like the idea of keeping animals, then selling your produce might be an excellent way to make some money. This could be flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even something like honey. Think about what you have time to work on and also what will interest you most. You should also take the time to research what legalities and regulations need to be taken into account.

As you can see, there are many ways to use your land to make money. Think about what will work best for you, and then take the time to put it in place. We can promise you that you will be glad that you did and that you took the time to try and earn money from your property.
