Make sure you look after the food as best as you can at all times.


As any supermarket manager will tell you, keeping the availability high on food products can be really challenging – but it is essential that you can do this if you are to keep your customers happy at all times, as far as possible. In order to do this, you should make sure that you plan ahead well, and that you pay attention to where the demand lies for certain products. That will ensure that you are going to keep the availability high on the products that really matter, so that  you can keep your customers as happy as possible all of the time. This is something you really can’t overlook.


As with many other kinds of retail, you need to think too about shrinkage, and make sure that you are keeping it as low as you can at all times. Shrinkage is merely the loss of goods by unknown or unquantified means, and it is one of the major causes of loss in any business. The way to combat it is to have a strong stock control procedure, and to make it clear to staff and customers alike that you are going to punish anyone who steals from the business. Do that, and you will have a much better shrinkage figure overall.
